菜饭 @ Canteen 11

The last time I ate at this stall, I didn’t enjoy my meal. It was slightly better this time round, though still a little disappointing.

The rice was still hard but warm. I really really dislike hard rice because they’re a little difficult to eat :/

The dishes were fantastic though.

The meat (I’m embarrassed to say I don’t know the name of it because I just told the uncle 我要这个还有这个…) was very succulent and the sauce was savory. It kind of tasted like honeyed pork ribs. (A word of caution: it’s very oily and has dried chilli though it wasn’t spicy to me)

The egg was a little like the Japanese chawanmushi though lacking in the smooth texture. It’s the Chinese version though, so still yummy.

This plate only costs $2 and I’d recommend you to go around 11am as all the dishes would have just come out!

Who doesn’t like piping hot food, right? 🙂

As a general warning, this review was made based on the set I was served and standards will definitely vary each day. Do not blame me should your meal fall below expectations!
