Laksa @ Food Connection

The laksa gravy was creamy, smooth (no dried shrimps etc in my bowl), and thick, very pleasing to drink! It wasn’t too oily and was very fragrant (would have been better if they provided chopped laksa leaves). The coconut present wasn’t overpowering and that was a plus point.

The gravy wasn’t very spicy (to cater to the majority I think), but the sambal chilli was POWER! Sweet yet spicy, it added so much flavour to my well cooked noodles!

It was a pity they were rather stingy with the ingredients. There were 4 thin slices of fishcake, 3 pieces of taupok, half a hard-boiled egg, and (BUT!) 4 HUGE awesome pieces of hum (cockles).

The taupok was so soft and soaked up the laksa gravy well. Putting each piece in my mouth was… Sheer goodness. The cockles were crunchy and didn’t have that funny smell/taste. Really really good.

Laksa is all about the gravy and cockles (but sometimes it’s better not to have these for health’s sake) and this bowl of noodles has made one laksa fan satisfied tonight.

For $2.50, I’m definitely eating this again soon! A comfort food for the stressed soul 🙂

As a general warning, this review was made based on the set I was served and standards will definitely vary each day. Do not blame me should your meal fall below expectations!
